A Sajou luxury thread card winder in Mauchaline Ware Scottish Tartan — a replica of the thread cards found in the finest sewing boxes of the Charles X era (1820–1830).

Made from cellulose acetate — a natural plastic derived from cotton flower and wood pulp — and decorated in the style of the beloved Scottish Mauchaline Ware souvenirs that were so fashionable in the 19th century. Part of Sajou's range of haberdashery made with imitation luxury materials in the style of the fine decorative arts of bygone days.

The card measures 5.8 x 5.8cm and is 2mm thick. It comes presented in a pretty Sajou sachet, making it an elegant gift or a collector's piece in its own right — though it is equally at home in a working sewing box.
