Description and Details

This Sajou traditional embroidery linen fat quarter is a premium quality foundation fabric designed for a wide range of hand embroidery techniques. Available in a fat quarter cut, it gives you plenty of fabric to work samplers, motifs and counted thread work without excess waste.

The fabric is an evenweave linen and cotton blend, giving you a smooth surface with a regular thread count that makes it easy to maintain even tension and neat stitches. This makes it suitable for cross-stitch, counted thread embroidery, pulled thread work, drawn thread work, blackwork and other traditional needlework techniques.

Using a fat quarter cut means you receive a piece of fabric that is larger than a quarter of a metre but more versatile and easier to handle than a full metre for smaller projects. It is ideal for stitchers who want to try new designs, piece together sampler panels or work multiple motifs on one cloth.

Because it is traditional embroidery linen, the fabric takes both fine and heavier threads well and holds structure even with dense stitching. The colour and weave make it appealing for both heritage craft projects and modern embroidery explorations.

The linen has wonderful drape and weighs 250 grams per meter, or 62.5 grams per fat quarter. Each fat quarter measures 70 x 50 cm/ 27.5 x 19.5 inches.

Available Colours:
Red, Old Rose, White & Mastic.

Material and Care Tips

Materials Details:
Pure Linen.

Before stitching:
Lightly press the fabric on a cool setting to remove creases before starting. Use a hoop or frame to maintain even tension across stitches.

During Stitching:
Plan your threads by colour and technique to help maintain rhythm and consistency. Keep threads organised to avoid tangling.

After Completion:
If your project needs washing, do so gently by hand in cool water. Press from the reverse with a cloth over the front to protect stitches. Avoid bleach and strong detergents."
