A heritage Sajou Bayeux Tapestry embroidery kit featuring the Crossing the Couesnon motif. Includes printed pattern chart, quality embroidery threads and linen base. Perfect for stitchers, history lovers and tapestry enthusiasts.
A beautiful Sajou cross stitch kit depicting the Crossing of the Couèsnon — one of the most dramatic scenes in the Bayeux Tapestry, showing Harold and the Norman soldiers wading through the treacherous tidal river to reach Mont Saint-Michel, with men and horses struggling against the current and some pulled to safety from the quicksands.
The scene captures a moment of peril and camaraderie in the early part of Harold's ill-fated journey to Normandy, before his capture by Count Guy of Ponthieu and his oath to William — an oath whose meaning and circumstances have been debated by historians ever since, and which William would use as justification for the Conquest.
The motif measures 200 x 89 points, giving a finished size of approximately 33.5 x 15 cm on 12-count embroidery linen. The chart is printed in matt finish so that notes and references can be written directly onto it.
The kit includes:
A printed pattern chart
Laine St Pierre embroidery wool
32-count sand linen embroidery fabric
You will find the full range of Bayeux Tapestry scene kits, pot kits and the large kit in my shop, along with other embroidery designs inspired by the historical textile collections of France’s great châteaux and museums.
Le canevas est plus court que la tapisserie, il manque au moins un cm de long. Frais de port à 15 € plus frais de douane à 22 €. Total de 110 € pour une toile trop courte et 8 bobines de laines. Je déconseille tout achat en Angleterre.
