Circa 1915. Fine white linen with a satin-stitch H monogram, Art Nouveau scrolls, lattice whitework, eyelets and a drawn-thread border. Measures 92 × 31cm. Immaculate condition.
An antique fine white linen table runner, circa 1915, with hand-worked whitework and an embroidered H monogram. The smooth linen ground provides a fine contrast to the openwork and satin stitching.
Three corners are decorated with large, stylised cartouches combining an open embroidered lattice with a frame of hand-worked eyelets. In the fourth corner, a finely worked satin-stitch H monogram is entwined with Art Nouveau foliate scrolls.
A ladder drawn-thread border frames the inner field. The runner is finished with a wide folded hem and neatly mitred corners.
In immaculate condition, with no structural wear, broken bars or discolouration. Measures 92 × 31cm.
Good for my sewing projects thank you. Its nice to still get some Nottingham lace. I have family heritage with Nottingham lace-my great grandfather x3 part owned one of the lace factories in Nottingham.
