Sajou French cement tile basketweave needlepoint tapestry chart — Viviers. A3 chart in decorative sleeve. Repeating motif, border and corner elements; on 5.2 mono canvas each element measures 3.8cm.
A Sajou basketweave needlepoint tapestry chart inspired by the French cement tiles that were fashionable across France in the mid-1800s — named after Viviers, a town in the Ardèche region that produced them.
The chart comprises three repeating elements: a motif, a border, and a corner. Because each element is repeatable, you can work your tapestry to any size you wish.
Using 5.2 mono canvas, each element measures 3.8cm — simply calculate the number of motifs and borders needed for your chosen dimensions.
If you love cross stitch but find the fine count harder on the eyes, tapestry is a wonderful alternative: the warp and weft are more visible, making each stitch quicker and easier to place.
