A large Sajou Museum & Heritage cross stitch chart celebrating the history of the Palace of Versailles and the kings and queens who lived there.

The embroidery is richly detailed: silhouette portraits of the monarchs, motifs drawn from the vast textile collection at Versailles — the wall hangings of the Hall of Plenty and the Mercury Room, the Queen's Bedchamber, the fabric pillars of the King's Bedchamber. The reverse of the chart carries the histories behind each motif and full working instructions.

The chart is printed on a matt surface that can be written on, and comes in a Sajou decorative folder.

The motif is 345 stitches wide by 344 stitches high. Worked on 12 count linen, the finished piece measures approximately 57.3 x 57.5cm — a project representing around 300 hours of stitching.
