A beautiful Sajou cross stitch kit depicting one of the most gripping moments from the Battle of Hastings as shown in the Bayeux Tapestry.
The scene captures a pivotal turning point in the battle: a rumour has swept through the Norman ranks that William has fallen, threatening to break the army's nerve entirely. In response, William raises his helmet to show his face — proof that he is alive and still fighting. Beside him, his half-brother Bishop Odo, characteristically carrying a staff rather than a sword (as a man of the church, he was not supposed to draw blood), rallies the troops and drives them forward. It is a moment of theatre as much as warfare, and the tapestry captures it with extraordinary immediacy.
The motif measures 355 x 95 points, giving a finished size of approximately 59 x 16 cm on 32-count linen. The chart is printed in matt finish so that notes and references can be written directly onto it.
