This cream Celtic knots jacquard woven ribbon is designed to add heritage pattern and texture to sewing, craft, and gift projects. The jacquard weave gives a three dimensional, almost embroidered effect, so the motifs look rich and defined even when used in narrow bands. It measures 32 mm (1.25 inches) deep and is sold by the metre in a continuous piece, making it ideal for long runs and clean finishes.
These ribbons are woven a few metres per hour on the same jacquard looms in Germany since 1898, which gives the ribbon that traditional woven quality and crisp motif detail. Jacquard ribbon has many uses, from bookmarks, headbands, cuff bracelets and chokers to pet collars and leads, plus trim work for quilts, pillows and cushions. On clothing it works beautifully on cuffs, collars and hems, and can be used for waistbands, button bands, or stitched in bands onto skirts for a distinctive finish.
Materials Details: 90 percent cotton, 10 percent polyester.
Ribbon Care Tips
Before use: Iron with a hot iron and plenty of steam to prevent puckering. If lurex or viscose is present, use a cooler setting.
Washing Tips: Unless lurex, other effect or viscose threads are used, ribbons can be machine washed up to 60°C. Ribbons with lurex, other effect or viscose threads are washable up to 30°C.
Drying Tips: Avoid using a tumble dryer.
Ironing Tips: Iron up to level 2–3 provided no lurex, other effect or viscose threads are used. If they are present, iron at level 1–2.
