Description and Details

These Sajou faux ivory embroidery scissors are made for stitchers who care about precision and heritage quality. The handles feature the signature Sajou “S” design and include a pretty removable tassel, making them both practical in use and beautiful in a sewing basket or project bag. At 11.8 cm long, they are an ideal size for detailed needlework and thread trimming without feeling fiddly.

In use, the page notes they have a lovely silky feel and a great handle. They are described as very hard wearing and able to snip right up to the points, which is exactly what you want for embroidery, cross stitch, appliqué, lace work, and other fine hand sewing where clean accuracy matters.

They are made in France by craftsmen, often from a family tradition of scissor making. Each blade carries a number to show they have been hand paired, and the page notes it can take up to twelve time served scissor makers to make each pair.

Sajou’s imitation luxury range is produced in the style of fine decorative arts from earlier eras. These are made from cellulose acetate, described as a natural plastic material made from cotton flower and wood pulp. The Sajou brand was created in 1828 by Jaques Simon Sajou, later revived in 2005 by collector Frederique Crestin Billet, keeping classic designs alive for modern makers.
