Description and Details

A pair of Sajou hand paired embroidery scissors in a Mauchline ware tartan style, 11cm long. The handles are made with real Scottish tartan fabric trapped between two layers of cellulose acetate, giving a smooth, glossy finish that feels balanced in the hand. A removable blue and white tassel adds a traditional haberdashery touch.

Mauchline ware originated in Scotland as Victorian-era tartanware souvenirs, highly collectible to this day. Sajou's interpretation honours that tradition with French scissor-making precision.

Silky in the hand, very hard wearing, snipping cleanly right up to the points. Each blade is numbered to confirm hand pairing; up to 12 time-served scissor makers contribute to each pair. Pairs with the Sajou Mauchline ware tartan thimble. Made in France.
