This Scottish thistles jacquard woven ribbon brings symbolic Highland heritage to your sewing and craft projects. The thistle motif, woven in rich green and purple tones on a cream ground, creates a striking traditional pattern that works beautifully on clothing, accessories and home projects.
At 50 mm (2 inches) wide, this ribbon is substantial enough to make an impact as a decorative band, trim or focal detail on quilts, cushions, bags, hats and scarves. It is also perfect as a staunch heritage element on garments such as kilts, jackets, waistcoats and sashes, where the thistle motif can echo Scottish identity and story.
The ribbon is sold by the metre in a continuous piece, allowing you to order exactly what you need for borders, bands or multiple uses without joins. It is woven on heritage jacquard looms in Germany that have been used since 1898, giving the motif a crisp woven quality and a slightly raised, textured handle.
Materials Details: 85% Cotton, 10% Polyester, 5% Viscose.
Ribbon Care Tips:
Before use: Iron with a hot iron and plenty of steam to prevent puckering. If viscose or other effect fibres are present, use a cooler setting.
Washing Tips: Unless lurex or other effect or viscose fibres are used, machine wash up to 60°C. Ribbons with viscose, effect threads or lurex are washable up to 30°C.
Drying Tips: Do not tumble dry.
Ironing Tips: Iron up to level 2 to 3 provided no viscose or effect threads are used. If they are present, iron at level 1 to 2.
