A square linen tablecloth from the 1920s, with hand embroidery from the island of Madeira. The robust, hand-loomed white linen has a pronounced slubbed texture, giving the ground a distinctive character alongside the finer needlework.

Botanical sprays decorate the four corners, combining satin-stitch foliage and trailing vines with hand-worked eyelets. A flowing bow-and-ribbon border frames the floral motifs, while a drawn-thread hemstitched band defines the inner layout.

In clean, crisp condition, with no broken threads or staining. The cloth measures 120cm square.
