A beautiful jacquard woven motif or Father Christmas on his sleigh woven in red and gold against an off white background.
The jacquard weave of the ribbon adds a three dimensional, almost embroidered effect to the ribbon.
Each ribbon motif measures 14cm/ 5.5 inches x 6 cm/ 2.35 inches.
These ribbons are woven at a few meters per hour on the same jacquard looms in Germany since 1898. Many of the designs are traditional although there are some modern designs to be found as well.
Before using your ribbon please iron with a hot iron and with plenty of steam in order to prevent puckering, if lurex or viscose is present in the ribbon, please use a cooler setting.
Ribbon Care- Washing and care
Unless lurex, other effect or viscose threads are used, the ribbon can be machine washed up to 60 degrees. All other ribbons (with lurex, other effect or viscose threads) are washable up to 30 degrees.
Drying
It is advisable not to use a tumble dryer.
Ironing
The ribbons can be ironed up to level 2-3, provided no lurex, other effect or viscose threads are used. Please iron all other ribbons (with lurex, other effect or viscose threads) at ironing level 1-2.
Jacquard ribbon has umpteen uses, from making bookmarks, headbands, cuff bracelets and neck chokers to making pet collars and leads. These ribbons are also a great way of accenting projects adding that special finishing touch to quilts, pillow and cushions. Used on clothing ribbon can be used on cuffs, collars and hems, they make unusual waistbands and button bands and look great sewn in bands on skirts.
