Fil au Chinois Retours Waxed Linen Book Binding Threads, available in eight thicknesses ranging from 10 to 60.
It is an excellent choice of thread for book binding and for many traditional and modern crafts such as; leather work, Jewelry making, knotting, braiding and bead work.
Like all Fil au Chinois threads, this thread is lightly waxed. The thread is passed through a bath of starch and bee's wax before twisting. Because the wax does not sit on the surface of the thread there is no stickiness, the threads have a nice sheen and are resistant to fraying.
The size of Sajou's book binding threads are given in the metric number (NM), which corresponds to the number of metres per gram or the number of kilometres per kilogram. Number 10 is the thickest and number 60 the thinnest.

Lovely linen thread, I only use Fil Au Chinois for my bookbinding as I prefer how it performs vs other threads. I had a query regarding the thread thickness, Penny was very responsive and helpful. I will be returning here for all my future linen thread purchases :)
