A gift set of 12 spools of Sajou Fil au Chinois Fil au Gant — a carefully chosen selection of vivid, bold bright tones of this specialist waxed gloving thread.
Originally developed for sewing gloves by hand, Fil au Gant is today one of the most trusted threads for Lunéville embroidery — also known as tambour embroidery — as well as for appliqué, patchwork, and fine hand sewing. Fine yet remarkably strong, it pulls cleanly through fabric and holds a crisp stitch line without fraying or fluffing during use.
The gloving thread is lightly waxed through a traditional process — passed through a bath of starch and beeswax before twisting. Because the wax is absorbed rather than sitting on the surface, there is no stickiness, while the thread retains a refined sheen throughout use.
