A beautiful gift box containing the full set of 72 Fil au Chinois lace making thread cocoons.

These threads are made of 3 strands of twisted mercerised cotton (the equivalent of DMC N° 80), and asides lace making, they make an excellent sewing thread and are great for embroidery as well,- especially the variegated threads.

The Calais Cocoons come in handy little cocoons of approximately 110 meters. The thread is pulled from the centre, which helps prevent knotting and any wastage.

On the inside of the lid, a large label shows the numbers and the names of the colours for reference.

I also stock the Calais cocoons in boxes of twelve.
