Description and Details
This white English Nottingham lace trim combines traditional British lace making with a fresh, versatile look. The design echoes broderie anglaise and Reticella style cutwork circles, so it reads beautifully on children’s wear, heirloom sewing, bridal projects and fine home textiles where you want light and texture without heavy scallops. At 1.7 cm (0.66 inches) deep, it is a narrow, easy to place trim that works along hems, sleeves, collars, linens and doll clothes without overwhelming the fabric.
The lace is sold by the metre in a continuous piece, ideal for dressmaking, millinery, corsetry, historical costuming or detailed craft work where you need a clean, unbroken run. Because it is a woven English Nottingham lace, it has a crisp yet soft handle and a very fine scale that suits miniature and detailed work as well as full size garments.
This trim is produced by the last remaining manufacturers in the UK, a family lace firm with nine generations of lace making behind them. They famously made lace for Kate Middleton’s wedding and bridesmaid dresses, and continue to supply Haute Couture houses and royalty, so you are working with the same level of quality used in high fashion and ceremonial garments. d
Materials Details: 95 percent cotton, 5 percent nylon. The cotton content gives softness and natural feel, while the small nylon percentage adds strength and resilience so the lace stands up well to careful use and sewing.
