Description and Details

This antique Paris Fashions magazine is an authentic Belle Époque fashion artefact from early 1902. Paris Fashions was published as the English translated edition of the influential French magazine La Nouvelle Mode, allowing international readers to follow Parisian couture, dressmaking ideas, and textile trends at a moment when French fashion set the global tone. For collectors and designers, these issues provide original period reference that modern reproductions cannot match.

A major collector feature is the bilingual structure. The first four pages are translated into English, giving a readable gateway into the content, and then the magazine continues as the complete French edition in full. This preserves the original French publishing style while adding practical English accessibility for study and display.

This issue is dated 8 February 1902 and marked Volume IX, No. 214 on the front cover. Inside, the French version repeats the date and lists Neuvième année, No. 6 (Ninth year, No. 6), giving strong provenance and helping collectors place it accurately within the series.

Beyond its historical value, the magazine is packed with fashion illustrations, articles, and adverts from the period. It also includes embroidery designs and a charted dressmaking pattern for a ladies camisole, with drafting instructions so the pattern can be recreated for modern making. The magazine is stated to be in excellent condition, rare for paper ephemera of this age and ideal for collectors, costume makers, and textile historians.
