These ribbons are woven slowly at only a few metres per hour on the same German jacquard looms that have produced luxury trims since 1898. The traditional weaving process gives crisp detail, excellent colour definition, and a sturdy ribbon that holds its shape well and resists fraying. Care Tips: Before using, iron the ribbon with a hot iron and plenty of steam to prevent puckering. If the ribbon contains lurex or viscose, use a cooler iron setting.
Ribbon Care - Washing and care:
Unless lurex, other effect or viscose threads are used, the ribbon can be machine washed up to 60 degrees. All other ribbons (with lurex, other effect or viscose threads) are washable up to 30 degrees.
Drying:
It is advisable not to use a tumble dryer.
Jacquard ribbon has umpteen uses, from making bookmarks, headbands, cuff bracelets and neck chokers to making pet collars and leads. These ribbons are also a great way of accenting projects adding that special finishing touch to quilts, pillow and cushions. Used on clothing ribbon can be used on cuffs, collars and hems, they make unusual waistbands and button bands and look great sewn in bands on skirts.
