Add heritage texture and vibrant botanical colour to your projects with Meadow Flowers 50 mm jacquard woven ribbon in Pink and Red. The meadow flower motifs are woven directly into the ribbon, not printed, so the pattern sits slightly raised and gives a subtle three dimensional, embroidered effect that looks luxurious on both clothing and craft work.
These ribbons are produced at only a few metres per hour on the same historic German jacquard looms that have been weaving luxury trims since 1898. That slower traditional process creates crisp detail, strong colour definition, and a ribbon with a firm, high quality hand that holds shape well and resists fraying. At 50 mm wide (about 2 inches), it is a statement depth, ideal when you want a feature trim rather than a narrow accent.
Sold by the metre in a continuous piece, you can order the exact run you need for matching repeats and long borders. Use it for couture edging on jackets, skirts, collars, cuffs and waistbands, for apron ties, hat bands, bags and bows. It is equally striking in interiors and crafts, including cushion borders, lampshade trims, quilt accents, book covers, and refined gift wrapping.
Ribbon Care - Washing and care
Care Tips: Unless lurex, other effect or viscose threads are used, the ribbon can be machine washed up to 60 degrees. All other ribbons (with lurex, other effect or viscose threads) are washable up to 30 degrees.
Before sewing, press the ribbon with a hot iron and plenty of steam to prevent puckering. If your ribbon contains lurex or viscose, use a cooler iron setting.
Drying
It is advisable not to use a tumble dryer.
Ironing
The ribbons can be ironed up to level 2-3, provided no lurex, other effect or viscose threads are used. Please iron all other ribbons (with lurex, other effect or viscose threads) at ironing level 1-2.
Jacquard ribbon has umpteen uses, from making bookmarks, headbands, cuff bracelets and neck chokers to making pet collars and leads. These ribbons are also a great way of accenting projects adding that special finishing touch to quilts, pillow and cushions. Used on clothing ribbon can be used on cuffs, collars and hems, they make unusual waistbands and button bands and look great sewn in bands on skirts.
