Description and Details
This vintage Irish linen damask tablecloth is a crisp, characterful piece of heritage table linen with a striking botanical and geometric theme. The centre is woven with a repeating damask of stars, giving a subtle tone on tone shimmer across the cloth. Around the edges, a bold geometric border alternates star motifs with trailing ivy leaves, framing the central field and creating a classic Irish damask layout that feels both decorative and structured.
The cloth arrived to Penelope Textiles beautifully laundered and starched and has not been re laundered since, so it retains a fresh, crisp finish with sharp pattern definition. As is common with well stored vintage linens, there are a couple of light storage marks on the folds, shown in the photos, which should lift with a gentle soak and careful laundering. Condition is listed as excellent overall, making it ready for use or collection.
At 167 cm (66 inches) square, this is an ideal size for many dining tables, breakfast nooks, or display surfaces. It suits everyday elegance, festive tablescapes, period home styling, and interiors photography. It can also be repurposed for heritage sewing, cushion fronts, restoration panels, or framed textile display if you enjoy giving vintage damask a second life. Woven in Irish linen damask, it offers the soft sheen, durability, and timeless patterning that make these cloths so sought after by collectors and practical users alike.
