An unusual pair of Sajou hand paired Little Monster scissors with gilded handles.
The scissors are named after the disproportionate size between the handles and the blades. They were often found in the type of miniature sewing kits your Grandmother might have owned.
The scissors measure 4.8 cm wide and 5.7 cm long, they are very strong to use with great handle. They are very hard wearing and snip right up to the points.
The scissors are made in France by craftsmen who are most often from a family tradition of scissor makers. Each blade has a number indicating that they have been hand paired and it can take up to twelve time served Scissor Makers and twenty manual processes to make each pair.

Sajou was created in 1828 by Jaques- Simon Sajou, selling haberdashery for embroidery, tapestry, lace, crochet and weaving. His pattern albums are sought after to this day by collectors worldwide. In 2005 the Sajou brand was purchased and revived by avid collector; Frederique Crestin- Billet. Many of the old designs have been faithfully reproduced and there are some new designs that have been added in the Sajou style.
