Sajou 40 count (16 threads per cm) Embroidery linen, available in 4 colours.
Sajou Embroidery linens are made in France. They are high quality with a regular weave, and just enough starch to give an excellent handle when working the embroidery and a beautiful finish. They are 140 cm/ 55 inches wide and are available by the meter or as a fat quarter which measures 70 x 50 cm/ 27.5 x 19.75 inches.
The linen is available in several colours and are perfect colour matches for working any of the Toile du Jouy or Battle of Hastings charts that I have. I also have a 32 count linen available in 28 colours, please see my other listings.
Sajou produce haberdashery items made in France to the highest standards (in some cases even produced on the original old machinery). Perfect for gifts and collectors, and for those of you unable to resist a quality that is seldom found in todays mass produced haberdashery products.
Sajou was created in 1828 by Jaques- Simon Sajou, selling haberdashery for embroidery, tapestry, lace, crochet and weaving. His pattern albums are sought after to this day by collectors worldwide. In 2005 the Sajou brand was purchased and revived by avid collector; Frederique Crestin- Billet. Many of the old designs have been faithfully reproduced and there are some new designs that have been added in the Sajou style.
Beautiful! It's amazing that you can still find quality online. I'm starting my Christmas stitching! This linen is a perfect match I was looking for. Thank you!
