A gift set of 8 spools of Sajou Fil au Chinois Pure Silk Perlé Embroidery/Sewing Thread No.30.

100% Perlé silk thread is strong and beautifully glossy, making it ideal for embroidery of all kinds. It is equally suited to cross stitch, crewel work, and decorative stitching, and can also be used for bobbin lace, braids and trimmings, buttonholes, and topstitching on fabric or leather.

Historically it was used in tapestries for the finer details — the faces and hands of figures, the centres of flowers, and animals’ eyes — where silk’s contrast with wool gave a subtle luminosity that wool alone could not achieve.

Diameter of thread: 0.525mm.
