Running the entire length of the tapestry above and below the main narrative, the borders are filled with a wonderful menagerie of real and fantastical creatures: lions, stags, birds, griffins, and exotic beasts drawn from medieval bestiaries and fable. Sometimes they mirror the action of the main scene above them; sometimes they seem to have a story entirely their own. This kit brings that delightful bestiary to life as a 30 x 30 cm embroidery, framed within a patterned border.

The motif measures 180 x 180 points, giving a finished size of approximately 30 x 30 cm on 32-count linen. The chart is printed in matt finish so that notes and references can be written directly onto it.
