Description and Details

A Sajou Museum & Heritage cross stitch chart inspired by the fabric of the Queen's Bedchamber at the Petit Trianon, Versailles.

The Petit Trianon was Marie-Antoinette's own retreat — a place she made famously bucolic, full of charm and deliberate simplicity. The bedchamber fabric, an evocation of rose bouquets and cornflowers on white, covered the celebrated 'wheat-ear furniture' created by Georges Jacob and embroidered by Marie-Olivier Defarges of Lyon. It is one of the most intimate and personal textiles to survive from her world.

The motif is 347 stitches wide by 266 stitches high. Worked on 12 count linen, the finished cushion measures approximately 57.8 x 43cm.

The full-colour chart is printed on two 60 x 28cm sheets and comes in a Sajou decorative sleeve.

Part of Sajou's Museum & Heritage Versailles series, which also includes the large Versailles chart, the Queen's Brocade Cushion, the Marie-Antoinette chart, and the Marie-Antoinette & Mme Élisabeth Tapestry Cushion.

Materials: Cross stitch chart in decorative sleeve. Made in France.
